Hi, I’m Virginia M. Mills, your new ESEA president. I’m a Pacific Islander from the Marianas Islands. I have been a district employee for over 23 years and worked in the Dept. of Student Threat Evaluation and Crisis Response as a Success Advocate for the past 12 years.
As your new president, I am pleased to announce ESEA has obtained an arbitration date set for October 19 -21, 2016. To help win a great pay raise and funds to help offset recent health insurance and PERS increases, we respectfully request you become an active member of ESEA. By working together, we may likely secure a ruling from the arbitrator before the holiday break.
As an active member, I have held several leadership positions in ESEA and I’ve organized to build a team to win…
- Campus Security Monitors reclassification from range 37 to 44 with training
- Transportation aides being recognized from permanent temporary employees to full time employees
Moving forward, I will fight to protect and improve our jobs, especially in this fight to win a new contract.
To make this happen, we need you to be an active member at your school or worksite. Also, we encourage you to attend our health insurance update meeting on Thursday, July 26 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. By attending, you will learn about the new health insurance changes scheduled for January 2017 and you’ll get an update on our campaign to win a great contract.
I look forward to winning with you. Come join us on July 26th. RSVP or let us know if you are interested in a becoming an active member at work by calling ESEA at 702-794-2537 or by sending an email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
