(Las Vegas, NV) —On December 7, 2020, the Employee-Management Relations Board (EMRB) rendered a decision regarding the placement of Education Support Professionals under AB469 from the 2017 Legislative Session.
“We are pleased with today’s decision by the EMRB,” said Jan Giles, President of ESEA. “This is an issue we’ve been dealing with for some time and we appreciate the ruling. We look forward to pursuing a more permanent ﬁx at the Legislature next year.”
In its order, the Board rejected the Attorney General Opinion (AGO) that the Clark County School District (CCSD) was relying on when ESEA was at the bargaining table. Further, the Board rejected various arguments from CCASAPE regarding the authority held by principals in a surplus or RIF situation.
ESEA will be working on a legislative ﬁx to this issue during the 81st Legislative Session next year.
