Full-day Kindergarten hearing set for Monday
The NSEA Lobby
Team is asking all members to contact the members of the Assembly Education
Committee and urge them to support AB 157-full-day Kindergarten. The committee will be discussing
the possibility of expanding full-day Kindergarten for all Nevada
schools. The hearing will be
in Carson City,
Monday, March 12th at 3:45 p.m. To contact the committee

Board
Lobby Day a Success
The
NSEA Board of Directors spent their Monday in Carson City visiting with legislators and
supporting the efforts of the lobby team which is on the ground full time
in Carson City. Board
members spoke with legislators about some of the bills currently being
discussed.
Read
Across America
a Seu-ccess
Friday, March 2nd
was the Read Across America celebration in honor of Dr. Seuss's
birthday. Millions of Americans
celebrated the NEA-sponsored event.
In Carson City,
WEA President Lynn Warne wore the Cat in the Hat costume as Assemblyman
Bernie Anderson read a Dr. Seuss book to his fellow lawmakers. Photos will be available on the
website later this week.
