The Education Support Employees Association (ESEA), the union that represents support professionals on all CCSD campuses, is saddened to hear about the needless shooting of one of our campus security monitors at Von Tobel Middle School.
"Every day, support professionals report to their schools to ensure the campuses are safe for our students. The majority of support professionals throughout the District are being asked to take these risks daily at below living wages on nine-month salaries," aid Jan Giles, ESEA President.
Giles said, CCSD and the Nevada Legislature must do more to properly fund the necessary pay and fill the positions needed on our campuses to successfully protect our students.
ESEA wishes the campus security monitor a speedy recovery.
